I spoke last night at a National Day of Prayer event. The topic I was asked to speak on was; what is the most important thing we as a nation should be praying for. It didn’t really come to me until just before I spoke. We should be praying for restoration, and with that the courage to stand even when under attack.
The word for restore in the Greek is apokathistemi. The literal meaning is reconstitute and it is made up of three words meaning reversal from a fall to a stand.
Restore as in Mark 9
12And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
And the fall to be restored from?
2 Thessalonians 2
3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
What falling away? Paul said it was already working. They are the leaders who lead away from the truth, in government and in religion.
Matthew 23
2Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
4For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
5But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
6And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
8But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
13But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
14Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
How do we solve problems?
1. Identify the problem
2. Develop a solution
3. Systematically implement the solution until complete.
What are necessary for the proper outcome of an actual solution?
1. Truth
2. Proper spirit – service not self exaltation or enrichment
3. Faith and Courage
4. Perseverance and Patience
What is the solution? Return to the foundation.

The word translated Return in Malachi 3 is the same word that is translated Restored in Psalms 69, Restorer in Isaiah 58, and Restoreth in Psalms 23.
Mark 9, 2 Thessalonians 2, Matthew 23
Malachi 3
Psalms 69, Isaiah 58, Psalms 23
Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day what we need to survive, restoration and courage. Amen
In the Name of
Jesus Christ My Lord
Thank You My Father
