the State of the Union is not good

Jesus Christ Is Lord!
25 January 2011

What is the State of the Union? It is not good and getting worse. Demagogues and opportunists have led us into self destruction and now present the same failed self serving policy as solutions. The vast majority knows this and that knowledge and the seemed ignorance of it on the part of our leaders has created an environment of no confidence.

The demonization tactic of the demagogue and the crisis creation of the opportunists have destroyed all confidence in government. The people see through these while seeing them used presently and this furthers the lack of confidence.

The state of the union can be seen reflected in this Gallup poll. http://www.gallup.com/poll/145760/Satisfaction-Gov-Morality-Economy-Down.aspx

People know the nation is in decline. We know what the problem is and what the answer is.
These line up with our Constitutional form of government and our standard of morality. The further from these foundational principles we get the further the nation declines. Why? They were founded on an understanding of human nature. They are as valid now as they were and as they will be forever.

Without self restraint, self governance and the moral standard that puts these into proper position humanity will always descend into the lower animalistic form. Government is man and as man descends the governments he creates will descend with him.

Tonight you will hear blame placed on everything other than the true problem. You will hear solutions that will increase and continue the descent. You will hear the formula for the final catastrophic end. You will hear self destruction cloaked in self delusion. You will hear demagoguery and opportunism doing as the founders describe them in their final stages.

John Adams – “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.”

Alexander Hamilton said in Federalist # 1 history will teach us that “men who have overturned the liberties of republics, the greatest number have begun their career by paying an obsequious court to the people; commencing demagogues, and ending tyrants.”

Psalms 119
105Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
106I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.
107I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word.
108Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.
109My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.
110The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts.
111Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.
112I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.
113I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.
114Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
115Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.
116Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
117Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.
118Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood.
119Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies.
120My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.
121I have done judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors.
122Be surety for thy servant for good: let not the proud oppress me.
123Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.
124Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.
125I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.
126It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.
127Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.
128Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.
