Vulture Capitalism

Jesus Christ Lord Is!
14 January 2012

Did you see it? 2 Kings 2

I want to talk about “Vulture Capitalism.” I know the misguided context that this and similar terms are being used to define others, but there is a truth that even these business ignorant false accusers don’t understand. (I wouldn’t recommend anyone try to publicly use this defense as it would absolutely be cut into bits and vomited against them as false accusation attack ads.)

Vultures only eat the dead.
There are companies who manage capital for all types of people and organizations. Those managing these moneys have made certain promises and vows to those invested that they will steward and grow their money. These firms aren’t philanthropic and the managers would be deemed failures if they didn’t properly execute their vows as they had agreed to.

(Think of all the times the left has taken great pleasure in seeing the violators of this trust perp-walked. And now we have even the law abiding being demonized as if they were law breakers in the same way.)

There are firms that specialize in purchasing and revitalizing distresses companies. If they purchase one that can’t survive due the current business environment or just due to past mismanagement, they will then typically maximize its liquidation. The damage was done well before the company was taken over and what is done is done out of obligation to protect the capital of those invested.

As you have heard me say many times in the past, this is also the way wealth changes hands in a free market system. The market, or rather the lack of viability in the market, for whatever reason, is best left to run its course and the demand (capital) is then shifted to other areas (people) and wealth is created in (or shifted to) new places. It’s a basic principle of free market capitalism.

As you have also heard me say many times there is no other system that works as well and all others fail quickly. If free markets and these failed systems are mixed they are in constant conflict. This can be seem in the many examples of the dead systems or industries that are artificially propped up then putting a strain on the resources and therefore other viable entities. The ultimate end of this is the dead sucking the life out of the living.

Free market capitalism is all part of a system that works. It results in what may appear when scrutinized at it smallest possible elementary parts as if it is in chaos but as an overall system it is functioning as designed in macro harmony. When you disrupt the macro it is thrust into an even deeper state of chaos that becomes more apparent in the diminishing harmony of the overall system. This is truth in all aspects of the creation.

There is much more to this but I will leave you to think it through. Come out from among them and live.

2 Peter 2 (& 3)
1This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Psalms 102

Jesus Christ My Lord
